Public Access Concepts
The Project provides coastal access trail enhancements including separated pedestrian and bicycle paths alongside the Bikeway to provide connectivity and reduce conflicts between bikes and pedestrians. The Project also includes public access enhancements intended to provide safer public access for all users to and from the Bikeway. Specifically, the Project proposes "Public Access Nodes" where users come together in define areas for staging or viewing the scenery. The intent is to provide a safe area for pedestrians to cross the Bikeway and for those users on wheeled vehicles to slow and accommodate different users.
The following images depicts design concepts that correspond and are integrated with the Resiliency Concepts.
